Giorno returned to creating visual artworks in 1989 with his Vinyl Paintings. Various phrases, taken from his poems and combining his interest in Buddhist spiritual texts with his Pop sensibility, were silkscreened on canvas painted with vinyl paint, creating a distinctly textured surface with a synthetic finish.
These were produced with the publisher and patron Francesco Conz.
